Gaia Online Ban Page
The only way to be 100% sure you won’t be banned is to not play Gaia Online. Else, be ready for one of the most frustrating experiences of your life.
Perhaps the number one reason why Gaia Online is their attitude with the bans. Generally, people tend to underestimage the gravity of a ban. Let’s state it once and for all: when you are banned, you lost all your items, all your friends, all your gold and every single second you’ve put into this game. You start — if you’re crazy enough to — from point one, with nothing but a newbie quest. Whatever time, hour, money or effort you put into the game is lost.
Whenever banned, most people think that a nice letter to a nice representative will fix it. This is simply not true. In case you wonder about it, here is the whole process.
1) You get banned. A letter is sent to the e-mail associated with your account. If you’ve forgot this e-mail, you are lost.
2) The letter states the reason of your ban, which is either scamming, or botting/hacking. From now on, you need to prove your innocence.
3) You choose to appeal your ban. Your message is either deleted, or read after 1 month.
4) *IF* your e-mail is read, you will be reconfirmed the reason why you were banned, and that’s it. They don’t even read your e-mail. They don’t care if you are innocent or not; they don’t get money from unbanning you so they most likely won’t.
5) Assuming you have very solid proofs (that won’t be read), you will be redirected to their ToS and encouraged to stop writing to them. Assuming you don’t, they simply won’t reply.
And that will be the end of your gaia experience as we know it!

WHY DO THEY BAN SO MUCH?
As you may or may not know, Gaia Online sells gold and item on their site. Thus, the less gold there is, the more people will want to buy it (offer and demand). By deleting extra-items, they cause prices to raise and people to want gold more. Another reason is that they try to sell gold selling websites (that usually sell the gold much cheaper) so that people buy the gold from them and not cheaper. To resume, they ban people strictly so that they can make more money.
Also, they know that once banned, you will be back and eager to get back what you have lost. Therefore, they do not really lose anything and manage to piss off about every single Gaia Online player
People often think that whining, bitching and crying will get their accounts back. Nothing is further from the truth. Gaia Online doesn’t give a shit about you. All their e-mails (if they read your ban appeal), they will answer with a pre-formated e-mail that often isn’t even linked with your concern.
HERE IS THE LIST OF REASONS THAT CAN LEAD TO A BAN :
1) You play too much. If you choose to lurk and refresh pages, even manually, you will be tagged as a ”refresher”. If you play too much in a day, you will be tagged as ”Chinese farmer”.
2) If you’ve ever been banned before, even one year ago, then your IP address is tagged, and you are at their mercy! As soon as you do ONE little mistake (such as ONE flaming or spamming), your IP will be investigated, and you will be banned.
3)If you ever logged on your account at a cybercafé or school and someone chooses to hack then, you will be banned! Because you have an IP in the same IP range as the hacker, your account will be blocked!
4)If you receives one milion gold or more from a stranger and accept it — because duh, who would refuse this — you might be banned! Why? Because you were obviously ”buying gold”
5)If you ever see an item at an extremely low price at auctions and buy it, you might be banned as they will suspect you are buying gold!
6)If you ever mistype your price while selling a junk item, you could be banned! Another obvious proof of powerselling.
7)If you have ever botted before, in any form or way, you are at risk of being perma-banned at any time. Let’s say trade for an account that has botted one year ago, you can still be banned!
8)If you run a charity and receives lots of item and gold from people, you could be banned!
9)If you have multiple accounts and trade all of the gold to your main, you WILL be banned.
10)If anyone in your family get banned, you will get banned too, even if you didn’t do anything! Simply because of the IP address.
11)If you get hacked and the hacker use your account to spam, to trade gold or for anything that breaks their ToS, you will be banned! How ridiculous is this?
12)If they do a server upgrade and you get accidently banned, good luck getting unbanned, even if you didn’t do anything at all. They seem to think accidents cannot happen, and will very rarely listen to you, even if you are 100% rights. They have better things to do, like releasing more 2,50$ crap.
13)If you start to be too rich, ten millions and more, be ready to be scanned over every single action you’ve done. And if you did ONE thing that they do not like, bye bye!
14)If you piss off a mod bad enough, or worse an admin, expect to get the consequences.
15)If you run a competition but do not give the prize to the winner, you can be banned for ‘’scamming”. What? What a fucking bullshit! It’s a competition, no one paid to participate and I can still get banned because I changed my mind? What the fuck!
Yes, reasons for bans are that crazy. Basically, they see botters and hackers everywhere, and sometimes invent them. They have no solid systems against botters and prefer to ban almost randomly, even if they ban mostly innocents (over 50% of people banned for botted never used a bot of their whole life). Oh, and did I said appealing is almost impossible?
Left and right, we see people getting banned from Gaia Online because they left too much comments in avatar, posted too much, or have shown ”bot look-alike” patterns. How can you prevent being banned? There seem to be only three ways:
1) Send donations each month. They won’t cut a 2,50$ monthly income that easily, or at least not without solid proofs (Proofs that they should get for everyone, but oh well!)
2) Do not play. That’s the only way you can be sure you won’t be banned.
3) Only log on your computer. Don’t play for too much, never accept trade requests from strangers, never flame, never bitch, never be sad, never troll, don’t play games too much, take breaks, buy donations and obey to every single word the moderators say (because they are always right, aren’t they). If someone insults you, report him and do not respond. Whenever posting something, make it 50 words or more. Never follow the same pattern around the website and dress your avatar in an incredibly good-looking form and shape. Have a journal and frequently update it while still submitting art and avatar to their arenas (botters and farmers don’t do that). Finally, log in every day and never accumulate over five millions gold in your account. Never log on gold selling website or anti-Gaia website (meaning it’s already too late) and if you do, delete your history, log, cookie and temporary internet files (just in case). Never scam, never think of scamming and get every gold legitly. Try to buy gold if you can and always be extremely polite with everyone, even when they threaten you of death. Send compliments to moderators every day and do not do a single action too much. Crazy? I can’t even assure that you are on the safe side if you do everything listed here.

none sense like this is only stopped if people get together and do something about it. If enough people complain the better business borough will have no choice but to do something about it. If two complain they have a pattern if a dozen complain then they are legally bound to investigate. What GAIA and places like this fail to realize that once they start selling monthly packages no matter what they call it they are selling, and thus receiving payment for services or items. They are a business and bound to the same laws other business are. So i say this stop complaining and do something about it. complaining only gets you but so far, action gets you farther.

But anyway. Yes, I do agree with the fact that the wrongful bannings are something that Gaia should be shameful about, and more into investigating, I wouldn’t say all these things about it.
Some things to question after reading this:
How does this person who is not affiliated with any Gaia staff member, know that these people delete your e-mails?
Where is the proof in saying that if someone spends too much time on there, they will get banned?

Anyway Last year some my friend sent me 1.2mil gold ( He had quit)
And about 10 mins after I accepted the trade, BAM I was banned.
This really pissed me off becaue I had spent money on the site before, so I sent them a nice long thought out email on what really happened.
and I got the reply “The account was banned for blah blah”
Then I emailed them again and told them how they did not even answer what I had sent them, they pretty much ignored it.
This really pissed me off, I wish I could take legal action on these people for pretty much stealing my money :S

I had to admit that I’m one of those kids. I actually spent all my money and allowance because of those virtual things! Would you blame me? I’m just 13 yrs. of age! I don’t know anything about that bastard website yet! They banned me for no reason! Where then is jutice? They stole my money! They just fooled us!

I also was single (IRL, it was easy to find desperate people on gaia
) for 4 years and one month out of that five years. Now, I’m gone. I don’t plan on going back. I might unban my accounts for fun to laugh in their dickfaces, but thats all. Now I have a girlfriend who loves me, a job worth having, and I’m going to college. Who need a virtual kiddy place for fun or not. Once they take your money its a business, and if that business doesn’t have any rules or obligations or standards, its most likely a scam.
Another thing people don’t realize is every day people hack others, people scam other people. Items are stolen and moved around. Its ridiculous. You’ll never get your items back. Okay, you MIGHT…notice the caps there. But to get them back think about this, when I had my stuff stolen I had over 100 items taken. Every one was reported. They would then be (If the FEEL like it) tracked around the site, each account the item having passed through being banned. 100…ONE HUNDRED…thats one, zero, zero. Think about how many accounts the scammer would send it through in mules. Then how many he would sell to. Then how many might keep or sell those items, and then the buying for friends who are then gifted the items. Then, when its all said and done. My items are back…and thousands accounts could have been banned for it to happen.

At the same time, I was harassed for a month by a college student in the Philipines; sexual harassment, racist comments, etc; even a stole a drawing of mine and drew over it calling me a slut. Gaia, just days ago, got the reports and what happens; I get a warning for “abuse” because I told the girl’s boyfriend photos do not belong in the painting/drawing arena. They then deleted all their comments, deleted ALL my screenshots with proof I was being harassed. So I made the petition thread, I go on today and they banned me.
Thankfully, I was able to transfer my items and gold days ago because I had the feeling this would happen, if you’d like to see the screenshots (I have every one of them) pm Evil Tuna Sammich on gaia please.

I spent 60$ on my first pay check on gaia online. I bought 6 gough reeds when they first came out, and come final evolution day when the gough reed evolved into zero and the other things guess what? take 6×700k. I couldnt have been happier. So I send one to my mule and sell the other 5 for a nice profit. The next day I try to log onto my main mule(the account I purchase all my items on) and it says the user has been banned for botting! BOTTING?! HOW IS SELLING SOMETHING I BOUGHT BOTTING? /~\ I felt so let down. But at least my main account is safe and sound. Gaia will never ban it! If it does im taking all my friends IRL with me out of that website because i clearly do nothing wrong to gaia accept hack into banned accounts and reactivate them NOT SO BAD.

Ok so the other day I bought a prepaid $25 credit card. I registerd it on my paypal. … so then I went gaia cash shopping. At first I only bought $5 worth of cash, so then I bought ten… then thinking I had another ten… I bought it again. Then I logged into my prepaid credit card account on thier website… and none of my purchases went through. So.. I kept buying cash. lol… anyways.. by the third day not one of the purchases went through and I was still buying. I must have bought like $1000 worth of gaia cash, thinking that it was just a glitch. lol.. well… they have yet to contact my account regarding the issue. I logged into my paypal, and just becasuse I hardly ever used my paypal.. and then wham.. Im using it like crazy they froze my account thinking that I got hacked. So I am in the process of verifying myself to paypal.
But what happens to my gaia stuff? lol.. I kinda figure eventually they will send me a notice… but its almost been a week now.. and still nothing. So.. trying to run from somebody who I am not sure is chasing me, I created 2 mule account and started gifting to them. And trading…. I see now how that is not so smart. Anyways, I am trying to cover up my tracks by gifting a bunch to other people and trading a bunch to other people too. I am even going to change my IP address here shortly. I wonder if they will even catch on considering how there has been so many glitches and problems with the site lately. (The amount of site problems has sky rocketed in the past month) I even sent them a complaint two weeks ago about an item I bought with gaia cash (not glitched cash) and never got. They have yet to get back to me.
Now that I read this site, is there anything else I can do to try and help my situation? I will even donate to the site too just to look like a good person haha. Anyways, any help would be great. I am even considering making ANOTHER mule account with a %100 completly different profile just to try and filter some of this stuff through. Do you think that changing my IP address daily would help? Cuz Im also getting the internet from my neighbour… he just doesnt know it. (thanks backtrack3)

Gaia is not a game and is not like the items will give you a super ability or anything if you buy them with your money,and if you want them so bad you can always get them from the marketplace or make a deal with another user.
You don’t need cash items to enjoy the site,as most of the site is a forum is they’re just a bonus.
If you decide to pay for cash,its because you want to and not because you were forced,plus getting banned from a website is not a new thing.So when you spend money on Gaia you already know that you can get banned someday.
And they don’t ban unfairly,my brother got banned accidentally for “botting” and he instead of wasting his time making a website complaining sent the staff an e-mail and after they investigated the case carefully he got his account back.

I’ve reported several bots I’ve seen but now I’ve been accused and have lost my account without any ability to fight!

I got banned dozens of times before. I know some times you get pissed with the Gaia Admins banning you for a retarded reason and you loose the gold you have been working up for but you need to realize that Gaiaonline is just a online game full of molesters and perverted people. Do you know the movie GAMER with Gerard Butler in it? Its like Gaiaonline, its not real. Get outside and go play with your real life friends. Stop getting addicted to its gold. My account got banned yesterday (5th Feb 2010) because I have supposedly been ‘password phising’.
Funny thing is, I haven’t even played this game since 2007 nor did I give anyone else my log in details. So, it seems that even if you don’t play, you can still get banned.

The first time I got banned was because someone sent me items that he had hacked from someone else; but I sent them right back to him.
Gaia banned me and him both.

So I started anew last September and really got into vending and hoarding (buying items cheap in the marketplace and selling them thereafter for more, thus making profit)
And if you have ever vended or know anything about it, then you would know that you have to sit on the ‘just added’ page of the marketplace and constantly refresh in order to see the items that come in before anyone else does.
This way, you will have a better chance of buying the cheap item before someone else does.
Well I had worked at up until today. About 78 days total.
Surprisingly I had accumulated over 43 million in gold and items as a result of my hard work in the marketplace.
Then I come to find out I am banned due to “Botting”, which is clearly stated to be “Using an automated script, macro, or refreshing feature to post or surf web pages in order to generate Gold is forbidden. The use of any software or codes to generate Gold or items without the need for you being in front of your computer is generally considered to be botting.”
I was manually refreshing the pages in order to vend.
So now I have lost everything yet again, because Gaia has falsely accused me of botting.
